I am easily distractable. So, I've been thinking that it would be a good idea if I downloaded some classical music to listen to while I study. However, I don't know anything about this genre of music! All I can really say is that, seeing that I am looking for a study aid, I should like more background music and less music that demands the listener's attention. Although I am open to composers' names, I would really appreciate it if you could provide me with specific songs and albums. Thank you.

Try anything from Lizet, Grieg, Vivaldi or more current George Winston. All very nice.

If you are easily distracted then you should study in silence... but if you must have music try "the Four Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi.

Beethoven's Sixth Symphony is also good... stay away from Mozart and Rossini as their music makes the listener pay attention...

Tchaikovsky might also work for studying.... good luck.

I'm sure there are CDs which you can containing a mixture. It is rumored that Mozart actually makes people smarter (called the 'Mozart effect'). I have xm online while at work and have learned to keep it on the classical channel as it really is much less distracting than having it on popular music stations (mind you, when I'm in my car, my xm is on rap, hip-hop, reggae and alternative).
