The Voyager was yanked 70,000 lightyears from the Federation by a a dying entity known as the Caretaker, who was trying to find compatible species to help the Ocampa, an underground-dwelling race that it had been, well, taking care of. After the Caretaker's death, when his space station was threatened with a takeover from belligerent aliens known as the Kazon, the Voyager crew decided to destroy the station (which was their only way home) rather than have it fall into the hands of the enemy.
Yes, the crew made it home in the final episode. The Borg doesn't assimilate the entire human race (though they've assimilated a lot of individual humans along the way)--in fact, in the final episode, the Borg are dealt a severe blow when the captain of the Voyager destroys a major "transwarp node" that the Borg use to get around the galaxy.

They were brought to the Delta Quadrant because an Entity called the Caretaker needed a successor to take care of a species called the Ocampa. However, only certain people were compatible, so he dragged ships from across the galaxy to him, including USS Voyager. They made it home 7 years later when they used a Borg transwarp hub to get to Earth. And no, the Borg did not assimilate the Human Race

Best show ever!!
Okay, the ship was transferred to another part of the universe by this crazy supernatural alien and his machine. They managed to get home by using one of the Borg's interspace transporters. In the mean time, Voyager managed to infect the Borg with a virus of some sort that actually weakend the species terribly.
I miss this show!

They were dragged through a wormhole by an omnipotent alien to the other side of the galaxy.. Before it could send him back, it was killed, therefore stranding them there.. They do find the borg over there, including their "homeworld". The Borg unfortunately don't assimilate them, too good of TV I guess, but they do convert one of them (played very nicely by Jeri Ryan) as she struggles to regain her humanity). Yes, using Borg technology which allows focused wormholes, they get home, right in front of a giant borg invasion fleet right behind him.... However Janeway, the captain, an older version of herself, had already come through giving Voyager the technology to control them, and new armor to protect them during.... After they get home, i.e. through the wormhole, there is a giant garrison of Starfleet ships waiting for the Borg fleet to come through, but they manage to trap them inside the wormhole by blowing up the exit tunnel... hope this answers your question..
