I am definitely in favor of a Republican woman president, whether in 2008 or thereafter. However, it'll be a cold day in hell before I ever say anything positive about Hilary Clinton. I think nothing good could ever come of her being president, but luckily, it's most likely a moot point as she will not be endorsed to run in 2008.

A woman President would be a great idea, but you need to make sure you don't get a woman who is too moody.

Look at the Governor of Louisiana (my home state) after Katrina. Did she help the people stranded? No. Did she ask the federal government for help? No. Did she accept the federal government's offer of help? No.

All she did was go on TV and cry. If George Bush would have done that after 9/11, we probably would have been attacked 5 times since then.

But if you get a reasonable woman in office (NOT Hillary), it would be good for the nation.

My greatest fear is they will elect a woman simply because she IS a woman. To a certain degree the President is just a figurehead and it's the people behind the curtain you need to watch. BUT Hillary, the REAL Hillary, makes Martha Stewart look like a saint. The democrats must have better candidates, I didn't like Joe Leiberman's social policies, more importantly his running mate, but he has earned more respect by leaving the DNC and winning anyways, they beg him to come back and run. People are forgetting that with the exception of Monica, most of the sleaze that went on in the Clinton years had Hillary's fingerprints on it, and you will be forced to relive every scandal if the DNC runs her for President. The reason she wins easily in NY is because there are 8 dems for every 5 reps, and the reps never ran a serious challenger because they all figured they would lose. And since then she has spread a lot of "pork" around, like a 37 million dollar opera house in Oneonta because neighboring Cooperstown has an opera house (which is why Oneonta has the soccer hall of fame, to compete with baseball in C-town).. "Let them have Opera!" even as our bridges, roads, and dams are crumbling, people go without decent housing, education or medical treatment. Speaking about the poor makes great speeches but in reality they all travel in first class, it's just dems do a better job of fooling people into thinking they care about the poor, and the public radio and tv stations carry the dems message almost as loud as CNN. So I do think she has the best chance at the nomination, but the dems will regret picking her (shes a female Ted Kennedy), and they will regret it even worse if she gets elected, it might be years before anyone votes democrat after that, if we still have elections. People forget teh violation of rights the Clintons carried out against any outspoken person, group or organization critical of them, idf she gets elected you'll see it happen even worse as she tries to cement power. When you look around teh world and see teh evil things being done by countries backed by China and Russia, you have to ask yourself if they are really our friends and if they should be renting bedrooms at the White House. The only thing I fear equal to Hillary would be Cheney, or Gore. McCain I thought was ok but he's a sell out on illegal immigration too, and that is the real issue no one admits for fear of being labeled "racist" when we should be calling Mexico HYPOCRIT. I'm just a dumb poor tax paying working stiff who wonders why everyone on welfare drives better cars, wear better clothes (and have cell phones) then I do.

Where I'd like to say that I'd prefer to select a president based purely on merit. Apparent merit selecting hasn't been very reliable in recent years. I guess a Woman could do just as much damage as any man so it's about time we did it at least to take the pressure off.

There are plenty of women who could do the job, however as some countries do not respect women or let them vote. etc.. it would be very hard for a woman president to be able to communicate with them or work with them. As for Hillary, let's just move on..

Any person that could fix the problems of this country would be fine with me. Woman, man or donkey. I can only think of one that we haven't tried.

Maybe it will take a woman's perspective to do it. I have no problem with a woman running the country as long as she is able to do it without all of the puppet strings that seem to come with the job.

Honestly it would be nice ,but I don't think Hillary has the push to win. The country would still rather have a white male as are prez over a female. It's sad ,but are country just isn't ready.
