Paul McCartney (He's even a Knight)
He was the founder of the Band "Wings" which was enormously successful especially with the "Band on the Run" album. Even went on to make a movie "Give My Regards to Broad Street." During th '80's he had some huge successes when he teamed up with Michael Jackson and did "Say, Say, Say" and "the Girl is Mine" He also wrote "live and let die" for James bond and a song for the movie Vanilla Sky.
Umm...he also has done 3 for 4 classical albums including "Liverpool Oratorio" and his tours still generate millions every year.
As far as musically, he wrote "Maybe I'm Amazed," "The World Tonight," (Ringo does the drums on that song), "Run Devil Run" and "Your Loving Flame"
Just listen to his "Chaos and Creation" Album. It's great.
He has 42 post-Beatles albums including live albums check it out!

They've all had highs and lows but I think John at his best holds the trump card. Passionate and musically adventurous, he also had a gift for connecting with basic human experience, i.e., Imagine, Whatever Gets You Through The Night, Jealous Guy, etc.
As far as "success" goes, I'm sure Paul has sold the most records at this point, but it's a little unfair to use that comparison, since John has been dead for 25 years+. Ringo and George both experienced great sales success earlier on in their solo careers.

Paul McCartney definitely. Yeah, his stuff was more commercially successful and all but his songs were also the best. Not just the stuff that hit the charts but the other songs on his albums were good too. I love Paul McCartney to this very day!

Actually I think Ringo had the best selling single with his re-make of "Your Sixteen"....but as far as a career, George Harrison hands down had the most interesting solo career and journey . We still love Paul though! And John of course.

Paul was way more successful commercially, but I agree, John and George were much better artistically. Ringo, well, isn't he doing a children's show now?

John Lennon was the best on his own.
Paul McCartney had some good music, but a lot of his newer stuff sucks.
I like them all though.

Latley, I'm begginning to appreciate Gerge's Solos work more than Paul or even John.
Ringo's solos stuff was pretty good:
I don't come easy is a great song
