I am a neocon. My Dad is a conservative, my Mom is a huge lib. They told me to stand up for myself and protect myself, but not to start trouble, which is a great compromise of both philosophies. They also told me to make certain to tell the teacher and to tell them if anyone was giving me a hard time.

i was told to bet their azzes because when you fight a bully back they will leave you alone. When i was the only white girl on a bus full of hispanics and african americans who tormented me every day, I started wearing steel toed boots. They left me alone after a few examples.

It was just me and mom and I never told her when another kid was giving me problems. I just dealt with it on my own. I couldn't go crying to mommy.
