I'd like to start planning a trip to Vegas. Although I'm broke, I definitely don't want it to be cheap, so I'd like to know some of the BEST things to do, the BEST places to eat, the BEST hotels, the BEST months to go, regardless of how expensive so I can look into it now and set up a budget! Thanks!!!!

If you like Seafood, the Rio Seafood Buffet is awesome--but it's about $30/person. If you want a good, solid buffet, but not super fancy, the Rio World Carnival buffet is good (about $12 for lunch). For a reasonable hotel rate, look to the Excalibur website--they're usually cheaper then the rest (a little older). If you want the best hotel, you obviously go either Belagio or the Venetian, but you're talking $300+/night.

Your first time in Vegas, it's actually pretty fun to see all the free "shows" (Bellagio fountains, Mirage volcano, ti Pirate show, etc., MGM lions, etc.). Seeing a show in Vegas is going to run over $100/ticket. If you do, you should probably choose a Cirque de Soleil (sp?) show--there are several to choose from.

I personally never go downtown, even though it tends to be cheaper, because it's pretty run-down, there's nothing really exciting, and parts are actually bordering on dangerous.

For times to go, it's not really about months--it's specific days, based upon holidays and conventions. For example, when E3 (the largest electronics show in the world) is there, every hotel is full and everything is expensive. But it could be that 2 days later is 10x cheaper. Definitely plan on going during the week--prices are 2-3x cheaper, restaurants and everything else is less busy, etc.

The best hotels on the main strip include: The Bellagio, The Wynn, The Venetian, Caesers (try for the new tower). I don't know how old you are but the Hard Rock Hotel and The Palms are great hotels, for a younger crowd, just off the strip.
Any major hotel on the strip or the two i just mentioned all have great restaurants and clubs. For steak i recommend The Palm (Caesers), Prime (Bellagio), or N9ne (The Palms). Other great restaurants are Nobu (Hard Rock), and Sea Blue (MGM Grand).
The hottest clubs in Vegas include: Tao (Venetian), Body English (Hard Rock), Rain/Ghost Bar (The Palms), Pure (Caesers), or Light (Bellagio). However, all these clubs are hard to get into, and the drinks are quite pricey.

Venetian is probably the best hotel---all the rooms are suites. Bellagio is next....both are good locations. The new Wynn hotel just opened up but it's all the way at the end of the strip....supposedly it's real nice too.

Any restaurant in Bellagio is good---my fave is Jasmines and Prime is real good too if you like steak.

Best time to go is probably May, June and September, October---it won't be cold and it won't be 100 degrees either.

Good luck and enjoy!

Go to fremont, its old school las vegas, thats where all the old casinos are!!! and the other best place would be to look around las vegas, like the new panorama towers or something, just google it, and they will tell u the best place, in my opinion, it would be Fremont and the las vegas strip. so yeah : )
