Wow, I've never seen that argument before. Good job!

Seriously though, atheists are not making that argument at all. An atheist is saying that there is no proof whatsoever that God exists. There is no evidence for God and the existence of this being cannot be verified. All we have to go on is a handful of books (depending on your religion) that contain a series of stories written by humans hundreds of years ago. This is not proof of anything. That's like someone digging up a copy of Terminator 2 in a thousand years and believing it to be a historical document that actually detailed the rise of the machines.

Love like any other feeling can be experienced, and many people have experienced this. There is little to deny. It can be a little intangible and hard to quantify, but this does not mean it doesn't exist.

God on the other hand is the belief that a magical invisible creature exists that is completely infallible, all knowing, and perfect. Yet this all knowing all powerful creature who supposedly loves us all, has allowed unspeakable evil to be committed in his name since the dawn of time.

Honestly, if you cannot understand how a fairy tale is different than a feeling, then I have some swamp land for sale.

In another question you talked about being a Muslim women. I tell you something, I would rather be an atheist in an all atheist country, than a Muslim woman in an extremist Muslim nation. Or maybe you think public stonings, floggings and body mutilation are fun for all the family. Also, let us not forget that the most horrific act of terrorism in the history of the planet was carried out by a group of god fearing Muslim men. Atheists were not flying those planes.

Incredible that such a question be asked, there is no correlation between God and Love, a God is a God...deity, etc

Love is a completely seperate subject and concept..

You also say that Atheists can't see God but neither can you...
you only believe it, it does not follow that it is true...

Belief in a thing or concept requires that you have a trust that the concept or thing is true, it does not follow that to believe a thing is true makes it true...do you follow...?? An example 'I believe that God exists', does not follow that He exists, or another'I believe that the water is hot', both beliefs rely on a proof of truth....it is true of all truths that they follow a simple test of that truth, that test is.....is the truth self evident....still follow...?

It further follows that to believe in Love is to require the same test....and it is painfully obvious that it passes the test easily...Is Love self evident....Of course it is....proof of Love is Not required...If the question is 'Do I Love' however there is a requirement for contemplation and self awareness for that is the nature of the question....the corrollary is equally as obvious...Is Love not present...the same result applies...it is painfully obvious when Love is not present.

How then do we Know rather than Believe...Love.....it is because it is self evident......a child recognises Love you do not need to waste your effort believing in it......

The 2 concepts although quite different in character have the same test...because Love is self evident it is a Truth and does not require Belief.....However God as a concept does not pass the test and therefore requires Belief....If a person chooses not to believe and chooses Truth instead....to my mind that person is thinking as a proper human would think...if you choose otherwise then that is your choice and I respect it as such, but do not expect others to follow your reasoning....Why not you ask.....because your not reasoning....to them it isn't true...how can it be true as I've just explained......

It is funny how religious types are forced to get more and more idiotic in their arguments for proof of a diety.

You think that because a person cannot define a feeling that the world should just lay down and give in to the pipe dreams of the bible?

There is a difference here. Yes, mankind cannot give a proof of love. It is impossible because it does not have any physical properties in of itself. Love does not do anything by itself. It is a feeling or state of mind. Is that what you are saying, god is nothing more than a state of mind? Well, then I agree with you on that point. God is a state of mind. To you, he is your imaginary friend, to me he is just imaginary.

If we all followed your logic of belief then we should believe in everything. God, devil, heaven, hell, bigfoot, leprachauns, ghosts, chupacabra, Nessie, yeti, sea serpents, unicorns, dragons, giants, werewolves, vampires, demons, spirits. Do you see how idiotic it becomes? There is just as much proof of those as for god. So if you believe in god, then you must believe in the rest of this stuff too, right?

I've never heard an atheist say they don't believe in god because they can't see god. That's a foolish statement. Atheists don't believe in god because there is no scientific proof of god's existence. And because they've had an education which prevents them from accepting superstitious nonsense as a belief. And because they believe in reality and not fantasy.

Love is an emotion shared between human beings which can be scientifically provent to be existent.

Next ridiculous religious query?

Love is a biological function. So is breathing. So is sex. So is the enjoyment of chocolate. I am a complex social animal, and I enjoy being such. Love is a wonderful feeling. Being an atheist and a well studied animal has opened my mind to the true nature of these feelings.

Atheists have faith too. Their faith is in the unprovable assertion that God does not exist. They believe that everything they see and feel is the result of one singular random event, that caused everything to exist. Love is only truly knowable to those who open themselves up to the possibility of it. God is the same way. The evidence is there for those willing to seek it. But first you have to reach out and try.

"But love is a feeling". Interaction with the original senses. That's why atheists believe in love. Because they can feel it. People can claim to feel God, but how do they truly know it is God, and not another emotion or thought?

Rubbish question. Of course love is a real feeling. It is a feeling one feels for another human (for example). It isn't a feeling that is developed for something that you have NEVER met, NEVER had evidence of and is merely an idea created by man. Sure you can love another human. They are right here, around you. Someone you can talk to, touch, hear, smell... they are real.

Love is not an object. It is a concept defined by humans. We have dictated that it exists.

God is a thing, an object. Thus, there can be physical evidence of its existence. You can't compare these two. Why on earth would you think this is a good argument?

If a heavy book of wisdom fell off a shelf and split your noodle, would you have to page through it to find out if it was bad for you and if you should go to the doctor? No one will side with your belief when you are so divisive and against people who simply think differently.
