I'm 22, haven't been on birth control in about a year. I maintain my weight, am not under wieght and don't do excessive exercise. I walk my dogs pretty often in the evenings. I don't take any meds or drugs. I may be stressed though.

How old are you?

If you reached menarche (had your first period) within the last few years, then this can be entirely normal. It takes a few years for a woman's cycle to become normal. It just does, and until it does, this could happen. In fact, some women never have a regular cycle. That becomes a problem when you want to start a family, but if it's normal for you, then it's normal for you.

Also, most women do not have a 28-day cycle. Some cycles can be a bit shorter, and some can be much longer. It is possible, in fact, to have a very long cycle.

At the other end of the specturm, I ask again, how old are you? Iregular cycles can also mean you are approacing menopause. This can happen very early, so if you think this might be the case, see your doctor.

If you have any more concerns about this, you should see your doctor. At the very least, you'll be getting a qualified medical opinion and explanation of the above. But if there is a chance that you have indeed been conceiving and miscarrying, then you absolutely MUST see your doctor and your GYN, and possibly as well another GYN who specializes in fertility problems.

However, if you are having a period every other month, I'm doubt that the latter is the problem. You body would need a longer rest.

Are you nearing the change of life? Hormones flux alot during that time.

And/or, besides that, how is you're weight? Underweight will shut off hormones. Overweight will make you're period quit too.

I guess they both make hormones flux. I know underweight can. Because the number of fat cells you have trigger the hormones.

This might be the body protecting itself from a pregnancy if you would only lose the baby anyway, or be at bigger risk of that.

But the chances are still very high that you can get pregnant even if you don't have a period.

In the meantime, no mess and no pads to buy for awhile, right? Make the best of that, and enjoy!

Keep some pads handy, and nearby, like one in you're pocketbook, in case of emergencies, right?! Of course.

You may not be eating enough perhaps? You should consume about 1200 calories a day, or if your active, 2000 calories. If it happens again, I'd go see the doctor.

that can happen if you're under weight which is a serious health problem cuz you could go anemic and not be able to get pregnant when you want to and it can cause oseroporosis. so are you skinny?
