that thing is called the ignition control module.

you need a special socket tool to remove it as well. i also want to know if yours is mounted on the distributor, or a remote heat sink? then check that you have a socket narrow enough can go in that small hole to remove the thing. if you don't have that then you need to order the removal tool as well.

the good news is this ignition control module is a very common Ford part you can buy at the Ford dealership, or any parts store that carries Ford parts. There are also after-market manufacturers that make this part because it is so common and essential to a functioning ignitio system.

I bought a GP sorensen brand Ignition module for 30 bucks it works fine.

i'd advise getting a few extras also since they are essential, and sensitive to heat and dubai is in a hot climate. also get some di-electric cream to put on the back of the thing will help keep it cool. you can also look into buying a performance part from Accel. their's might be more resistant to the hot weater in dubai.

you can also take one off another ford vehicle if you're in a hurry but i wouldn't advise driving around iwth a used one that could go bad again at any minute. but go to this link you can see all the ford/mercury vehicles that use that part. then go to the junkyard in dubai and get as many as you want off whatever ford vehicles they have.

I'm not sure where you are located, but Autozone in the US carries this particular ECM for about $250.

It is off of a pick-up truck. Most salvage yards should have this ECM or equivalent.
