I've heard there are lots of signs of telling whether i'm having a boy or a girl. I know its stupid and i will find out for real on the 29/12 but just thought i'd check. Anyone know any old wives tales about these signs?

With my daughter I craved strawberries and sour things; with my son I craved sweets--coincidence or cravings have to do the gender of the foetus as per old wives tales? There are also foretelling markings--fat ridges- on the thighs of a first born child. But I do not know how to foretell the gender of a firstborn child, other than the shape of the protruding stomach. Boys supposedly are more oval and girls more round. The heartbeat of girls supposed to be faster than boys. Looking at a beautiful picture of a child brings similar features in your child and it applies to the gender too-so I was told . Drinking a 1/2 cup of boiled (cooled) water before going to bed at night and wishing the image of your baby appear in a dream is supposed to work . Have fun, and may all your sweet dreams come true.

Google: pregnancy wives tales. SO much stuff comes up. I have tried them all and had some be accurate and some not. One that I did have accurate for all of my kids is the Chinese Gender Chart. Google it...and see if it works for you!

Oh, and not that this will help you but my neice...she is 17 now...but in the past 14 years, since she was 3 years old...she has correctly determined the gender of ALL of my children, her two brothers, and also two of our friends babys. She has never been wrong. Even when she was 3 years old and wanted a sister...she said "I want a baby sister but it's gonna be a brother!" VERY FREAKY!! Also, we had an ultrasound with my first son and were unable to get a clear shot of him and the tech said she thought it might be a girl...but was not positive...and my niece said "NO...it's a boy!" She was right!

Theres everything from swinging needles and thread, to the size of the moon during your cycle.

Theyre all wives tales and dont have anything to do with which sperm cell reached the egg first. Gender cant be predicted without a way to confirm if the xy or xx sperm made it to the egg.

Just wait until you can know for sure.

some the old wives tells may be accurate but by the end of the day, it's a speculation and guessing work. Patience is a virtue you know. Just wait for tomorrow morning, 29th would be here.

There is the tale about the thread-you hang a needle over your stomach and watch which way it turns. Left is for a boy and right is for a girl.
I didn't do that for either of my pregnacies, however I was positive about the sex of my babies before my sonograms. With my first, keft noticing girly things, clothes, blankets, signs, etc. I even bought her "blankie" in pink before the sonogram. It was the same for my second, my son. I bought his "blankie" in blue before my sonogram, and noticed only "boy" things when I was out shopping.

I've been told that if your having a girl you have more morning sickness or worse morning sickness due to the extra female hormones in your system.
For me it was true...I hardly had any with my son and was on 2 prescriptions to calm down my sickness with my daughter.
I was 500% sure I was having a girl when I was preganant with my son though LOL

i don't believe the tales, but with my first i *knew* it was a girl, i even pictured her down to her curly brown hair. with # 2, it feels so different, so i'm quite sure it's a boy, but we'll see!!!! i also know people who are SURE it's a girl, but have a boy. good luck!
