A Christmas I spent eating Christmas dinner at Denny's with my then girlfriend and my Grandparents.
We were invited over to my girlfriends parents for Christmas...it was going to be something simple and tiny...just the six of us. Well, when we arrived...there was a ton of other cars and a HUGE party thing going on. Kris (the girlfriend), said..."uh-oh" she could see the look on my Grandparents' face...which was one of dread. So she said..."Hey...why don't we go down to the lake, drive around and check out all the Christmas decorations." Grandpa smiled...clearly relieved, and turned the car around. He put on some Christmas music and we spent the better part of 2 hours driving around the town...it felt like the whole city was ours, because no one else was on the roads, there was fresh snow everywhere and it seemed like it was just a moment out of time.
After awhile we were hungry and the only thing open was a Denny's. So we joyfully drove in and ate our Christmas dinner. It was a Christmas that we talked about for ages afterwords, it was just magical. It wasn't supposed to happen, just one of those moments when doing the opposite of what was expected turned into a great and fond memory.

When I was a kid (<10) we lived in Australia. There, its summer at Christmas time. The living room of the house had large screen doors along one wall. On Christmas morning, my parents would open up all those doors and we would take our new toys outside to play. It was like having Christmas outside.
Second fondest memory is when I was a teenager and we lived to Colorado. Near Winter Park is a part of the national forest where they let you cut down your own tree. My father and I would strap on our x-country skis and head up into the forest to find the best tree. The snow was sometimes 5' deep, so cutting down and getting the tree back to the car was WORK, especially at 7000+ feet. But, the trees were spectacular and it is a great memory of my father.

Singing Christmas carols around a piano, while grandma played, with friends and relatives when I was six years old on Christmas Eve. The Christmas tree was about to be decorated by us all with handmade ornaments we had brought over as per grandma's request. There was a roaring fire, marshmallow's and hot chocolate (grandpa passed a flask to the other men adding something to his) and at that moment, I thought I was in Christmas heaven!

When I lived in Germany and we left our shoes outside for Cinder Klaus to fill them with sweets if you were good or coal if you were naughty. I remember almost every detail of that Christmas, from the thick and long icicles hanging from the roof to the snow angels and the snowman we all helped to make.

The first time that I heard about the birth of Jesus. I always thought that it was just about giving and receiving gift, but to find out that it was really about the birth of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ I was so excited. See to me there is nothing more important then knowing that Jesus was born and died for me and you. WOW! That was my best Christmas ever. : D

I once took a bite of a wax gingerbread-man ornament, not realizing it wasn't real. I then spit out the awful taste, and everybody laughed. Everyone still remembers that day, and the gingerbread-man ornament still has small, little bite marks on it. Gingerbread lovers, don't eat wax gingerbread-men.Or yellow snow.

This is one that always puts a smile on everyone's face when we discuss it. I was 3 years old and my older sister got a pink stuffed pig from Santa and I was sitting on it shortly after she opened it and accidentally peed on it.
