This lady just came in to my work w/ her dog. her dog is one of those white little ugly things...forget the name...it has on a yellow raincoat and the owner is holding a big yellow umbrella over it. The dog is growling at everyone and she told me to get it a cup of coffee. I work at a bank.

Was this lady applying for a titanic loan (if so, then I would comply) or is she moving money out of her trustfund, which could have been done online if she had take the time to figure out how (then I would offer her a lolly pop for her child)?

Appropriate or not, it is kinda funny.

Well, no, I'd say it's not appropriate. If it's a service dog (which it sure doesn't sound like) then it would be allowed into any business. But in any case, asking you to get it a cup of coffee is WAY out of line.

But hey, she's a customer - and the customer is always right, no? You and your coworkers will get a lot of laughs out of this one later on.

no, dogs aren't supposed to be in banks, unless it's a blind person's dog...just tell her to leave. It would be kind of funny to see her reaction since she obviously thinks the world of herself. Your boss can't fire you for that, because I'm sure your bank has a rule against dogs being inside. Just say you were following the rules.

No, it's not appropriate. I would tell her that I'm sorry, but animals are not allowed in this establishment. I'm so sick and tired of people bringing their dogs everywhere with them. If your taking them for a walk, fine. But if your going shopping, leave the dog at home!

LoL!What kind of a nut job gives their dog coffee?!
And i do not think that is appropriate at all...some people just think they own everything and expect everyone else to wait on them hand and foot!(unless she does own the bank.....lol)
I've seen worse.. not funny but just plain rude!!

The only thing that would have been appropriate would have been to tell her and her dog to take a long walk off a short pier.

Ask her where your W2 form is so you can be sure you're on her payroll before assuming the role of her hired hand. What a pretentious git. You should kick that mutt.

Honestly... some people's children....

inappropriate if you have a policy against bringing pets in the bank. But if not then I think it's still ridiculous but worth the laugh

Hugely inappropriate, but naturally you still must get the mangy little cur some coffee. Because your boss will fire you if you don't. Isn't it great that Americans have employment-at-will!?!?!?
