I had a boyfriend a year or so back who, on valentine's day, bought me a guitar. I had always wanted to learn to play guitar, and so he went out, got it for me, and decided to give me lessons.

That Christmas, he gave me two tickets to see 'Chicago' on Broadway. As a combined present for my birthday and for Christmas, he brought me to New York to see the play, and we spent the entire day in Manhatten.

I will most likely have the guitar forever, even though the two of us have gone our seperate ways.

my favorite giift ever came from my boyfriend, for our first holiday season together. i used to wear a light blue belly ring that I had gotten at some cheap accessories store at the mall, which he would play with when we were lying around together. for the holidays/my birthday (which is in dec), he went to a jeweler, got a lesson in how to pick out the best stones, and designed a similar piece, but with actual diamonds and sapphires that he picked himself. he even took the time to pick out the chain that sparkled the most in the light. obviously the ring is gorgeous, but what i love even more about it is how much thought/time he put into it. now i've always got something with me that reminds me of him. i will definitely keep it all my life.

If you are looking for a gift idea, one that they will keep. Have you ever thought of having a dvd put together of this persons life, baby pics, marriiage pics, their babys pics, you have music put in the background and it is the most priceless gift you could give someone, and definately something they would keep and treasure forever. good luck

My mother in law bought me a cell phone with 2 years service paid. Probably won't keep it my entire life.
