Their performance was not at its best. I root for them, but frankly it was not fun to watch them roam the field. They had so much more potential! They needed to step up the teamwork and the energy-level. I guess we could blame it on jet-lag. Oh well, better luck next time...

All I will say is that I was expecting so much more from them then what I saw during the WC.

You do not win the world cup by being lucky so what a stupid answer, Italy were class both defensively and attacking wise, they were the best side in the tournament but were the 2nd best side in the final as France played superbly, but as a competition Italy were the best.
Oh sorry by the way, yes Brazil were awful in the world cup, but mainly due to there best players not performing i.e ronaldinho who is on fire again now, however they will be back to best in 2010 and are always the team to beat.

Everytime they don't win a cup people say they slacked. They have won more than everyone else and I think all of the stars are from the 1970s on. They must win every other cup. They can't win everything, no one can...... not even the Italians.. but that will change

i agree wit u yer they really were slack in the world cup n i think there preformance not only shocked the world wide audience but i think themselves 2 i think they were 2 confident goin into the world cup n even b4 wwc started ronaldinho was already sayin they were goin 2 win the wwc again

They were overconfident and they depended to much on individual talent instead of working as a team.

Italy won because they have talent, skill, the best defence and offence, they have class, they have the best team in the world. And their more than 100 times better than Brasil.
