some guy keeps sending messages to add him, and he bugs me all the time and says stupid things, i think it could be a friend messing about and i want to find out if it is

Nope. MySpace -- most websites for that matter -- does track the IP addresses of all users but does not release that information publicly. They would release it in response to a subpoena.
