1. Have you ever had a birthday party on your birthday?
I've had exactly one b-day party. It was in October, so it didn't feel right. That was it. For my 21st, I had to go to a casino; only place open. They kicked us out after a few drinks.

2. Do you absolutely hate combo cards? You know, Christmas/Birthday cards?
I hate them. I really do.

Leap year? That sucks! My sisters are born on New Year's Day and Thanksgiving. I think my parents had an agenda...

I also hate when I have to show ID, and people are like "Christmas Baby?!? That must be great!"

My dad's birthday is on Christmas day. He says he feels cheated. I always make it a point to buy him a seperate birthday card and wrap his birthday present in birthday paper, aside from his Christmas presents.

My birthday is in the middle of January, and with all the relief of the holidays being over, my birthday often gets forgotten. The only people that remember is my mom and aunt. Even my DAD has forgotten before!

I knew a guy who was born on the 4th of July and when he was little he always thought the fireworks were for him. When he got old enough to realize that they weren't for him, he was EXTREMELY dissapointed.

I also know a girl who was born on February 29th on a leap year and she only gets to truly celebrate her birthday every few years. She always brags about she's only 7 years old, when she's really 30.

One of my kids is a Christmas baby - actually, a little late, but close enough. We've always striven to keep birthday and Christmas separate.

When he was young, we'd have birthday parties for him a bit early - like this week - before school was out, so his friends could come, and he seemed fine with that.

My ex mom in law is a Christmas baby - and she's always hated how her birthday got forgotten in the mess of the holiday. In fact, you reminded me, I should send her a birthday card today. A STRAIGHT, FOR BIRTHDAY ONLY card. In fact, it was she who begged me to keep his birthday and Christmas separate, even though he's not her grandkid.

my b-days on the 24th
I have had partys when I was small . Lots of family and family friends came. around 50-100. only few school people.
It stopped after the family moved to a flat.

There are no combo cards where I am. (and anyways most of my friends are cheap so they make their own cards)

BTW my dad chose my birthday, It could have been any day in dec or jan.he thought noone would forget

Today is my birthday and I have also received combo gifts and cards. Babies born this close to Christmas understand what your feeling.

Mine is the 24th. I like when people say..."oh you must really hate to have your b-day on christmas eve." Gee thanks, I dont really know what it is like to have it on another day.

I only felt, honestly, cheated once and that was my 24th b-day..so pretty good. My parents, always..always wrapped my presents in birthday paper instead of christmas paper. I got ice-cream cake a lot when I was younger to pretend it was a hot day! My 21 run consisted of going to a restaurant with my parents having one drink, then going to church. I made up for it later.

An idea out there to parents with children who are close to the holidays: Have them pick out what you will eat for dinner. For me to picking out dinner for christmas eve night (when we have the special dinner for chrstmas unlike christmas night) was very very special. I usually picked Fondue!

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!
