It does annoy me no end ; but then sometimes we too are guilty of the same thing. right?
Specially wn we are standing in a queue for payment & have nothing better to do but look around.........

No, I don't mind at all. And they're just asking you a simple question when they want to know where something is... there's nothing wrong with that; I've done the same thing.

Something similar happened to me last week and it pissed me off. I was at the mall getting presents for my husband. A lady was looking for Denver Bronco things. She looked at me and asked me if I got anything with the Bronco's. I told her no. She then asked me what I had in my bag. I just looked at her and then walked away. That made me mad!!

yeah, it does!! there was a woman who kept looking at my cart when it's full of potato chips and frozen food. I've no clue what's wrong with that-

Why should it ?.I take it as a compliment.I'm never rude to people and I always talk to people.I have no idea why it would offend you .If people reach out to you ,why don't you reach back.It can be very rewarding.

It is okay to be friendly with other people, and not be rude and stand offish. Sometimes, though, we want to be left ALONE. I understand, but i'd prefer to be friendly with strangers though.
