Has the internet completely replaced the use of encyclopedias? When was the last time you....?

....opened an encyclopedia? Do kids these days even KNOW what they are? lol.

We had a set donated to some of our clients at work, and I admit it was the first time I had opened one in years. But I still remember the pictures that were in my favorite sections.

i think that the internet is a very good place for gathering information, but like most i do not always trust the info. there are a lot of sites that do not necessarily give correct information. i do not have kids, but i think i would allow them to research on the net, but check the info in and encyclopedia

The last time I used an actualy book encyclopedia was about a year ago at the library. I still prefer those to those on the internet mostly because the pages of the book don't hurt my eyes as much as the glow of the moniter.

I haven't even looked at an encyclopedia since I was like 9. God, that's almost 20 years ago. lol I doubt kids would know what a real encyclopedia is.....you say the word and they're at the web site. Do they even make them anymore?

We have a whole set worth a lot, there for show now they never get used.

heh. Probably for a project a year ago... only because I needed the bibliography. Did I actually look in it? Nope. ^_^
