These days it can start early. Before she gets her first menstrual cycle. Even at like 8 or 9 now.

Hi, well my name is Neha. I am a girl and so i would like to answer your question. First of all, you should understand that there is no age for a girl to get pregnant because if a man or a boy raped her, she can or cannot get pregnant. So, if the girl is 10 or 9 or even younger, she could get pregant, so there is no age but i can say that a girl won't get pregant at 5 or 6 because she is too young and haven't even developed but actually girls have no age in getting pregant, girls if they want a baby can get pregant very quickly. i don't know if i have replied to your question correctly but would like to say that i just wanted to help you out, okay so byeee!!! From Neha

As soon as she hits puberty. When her body starts releasing eggs, she can get pregnant. This happens at different ages for everyone, depending on things like percentage of body fat and level of activity and genetics. I started at age 9 but my sister didn't until she was 16.

Although, at that young age it isn't healthy because the body hasn't fully matured. Babies take up a lot of a woman's nutrition and a young body still needs that to grow. Plus it's likely her hips won't be wide enough to support or deliver the baby. Miscarriage is very common and it's dangerous for her health too.

What is the purpose of asking this question?

A woman should consciously conceive only after 18 years of age as medically her body is prepared for childbirth.

Teen pregnancies are dangerous and life threatening. In this day and age, please dont be promiscious and stick to one partner. Protected sex does not provide hundred percent guarantee from AIDS or STDs, which is a very big threat.

Hun! From the day a girl initially gets her menstrual cycle, she is capable of getting pregnant. Thats why some people refer to the period as becoming a woman. To be mature about having children, in my opinion a girl should not be having children until she is married, or over the age a twenty and mature enough to handle the responsibility.

The minimum age and for a and pregant woman i would say, probably 20 or either 21. But 18 and in between 15 is really bad just probably your twenties!

There is a possibility for a girl to get pregnant at any time. I personally know girls that had babies at thirteen, and one at twelve. There is a VERY high risk of getting pregnant at any age. The menstrual period is not required prior to getting pregnant. Even a child of ten or eleven can wind up pregnant if given the right circumstances.

Anytime a woman starts her period. The average age is about 13 but easily as early as 10 or 11.

It depends on the girl. Menstruation (when the eggs mature) doesn't usually start until age 12 - 16, but it can start as early as 8 yrs old. Also, just because you haven't gotten your period doesn't mean you can't get pregnant. If you have sex as you release your first egg (what would be your first period if you didn't get pregnant), a sperm could fertilize that egg, impregnating you.

USE PROTECTION -- having a baby before you're ready is bad, but you could also get an STD, AIDs, etc.!

** Oh and Lynette, Maureen isn't wrong, you CAN get pregnant BEFORE your first period, see my explanation above!
