It depends on what kind of laptop you are using. On my Dell Inspiron I have Quickset program that has a power saving feature that changes all the other settings all the computer to match what I want. Any laptop should normally come with some kind of software that will do that. Look at your system tray, maybe you'll see something there.
Also try -- right click on your desktop, click properties, click on screen saver tab, click on power button on the bottom, and look through the settings. Try changing some things around.
And last one - there can be a combination of keys that you press to make your screen go dimmer.

The solutions are already there however permit me tricky - the pc could have detailed energy settings which could optimize the battery energy and in flip aid you run the pc for extra hours. If you wish to upgrade the show settings, you then could have got to cross to the energy settings mode and verify for the present choices which might be set and difference them to fit the brightness you wish or fit it with the brightness surroundings of the AC (no longer air conditioner :)) energy settings. Voila! Brightness comes again into your existence...

These configuration settings are located in the "Power Option" inside "Control Panel".
