If you are using Windows XP, you need to go to:

Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs

Once in there, look on the left for "Add/Remove Windows Components"

Simply uncheck the MSN Messenger and any other stuff you don't want, and let it complete.

Select MSN Messenger from your list.
Remove

Its very simple, just click on start - Settings - Control panel - Add/Remove Programs and then click on Msn Messenger and then uninstall it and you are done :)

simple. follow the steps below:
1. Clcik on the Start button, locate control panel, and click to open
2. Click Add/Remove Programs
3. On the Add/Remove dialog, click Add/Remove Windows Components
4. On the Windows Components Wizard, scroll down, click to uncheck Windows Messenger
5. Click next, follow the dialog to the end.

run this code: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC. Remove <-- remove space between "BLC. and Remove" i had to space it 'cuz it wasn't completely showing up.
