I have heard several women complain that as they get older they look frumpy and less attractive whilst men get more distinguished as they age. Is there any truth in this do you reckon?

I think women are more accepting of the aging process in men. Men are very visual and they want their women to look nice at any age. Women are more interested in intellect and achievement. It is natural, and not something that they do consciously. Women are programed to look for a mate that can protect and care for them, where men are looking for a strong healthy breading mate.
Do men look distinguished as they age??? you could call it that.

Distinguish is a kind word to describe a man whose hair are turning grey.

Women think it is distinguish.
Men think they are getting old.

Both men and women can age gracefully if they stay in good shape physically.

We have many women celebrities who are in their fifties and still looking great. Actually...most of them did not become super stars until their late thirties...and they would make a 20 year old drool with envy.

Could it be that women are ruining their skin by wearing make up everyday from the age of 16?
Why do women need cream and make up while men don't?

I think it all depends on the individual. Some Men look better but others get nose, ear and etc hair and start to look like large Hobbits. Also their earlobs (my daughter calls them softies) get HUGE-ugh! Other things happen to women in other ways- like the spreading butt vs the spreading gut! I think unfortunately that its still a world of magazine models and such and women get the worst of it as we age. I'm 47 and still wear a misses size 10 and stll get flirted with but I'm lucky. I don't even care about crows feet as long as I age gracefully and my skin is clear and soft. My husband is 7 yrs younger. I think the world is just more forgiving of men (women too do it to themselves)

Is there anything distinguished about droopy balls, floppy ears, and passing wind every time you stand up? Not really. Men are just more comfortable with themselves and don't express the constant angst about the natural process of aging the way women do.

Yes a lot of men do look more distinguished as they age, a lot of women look even more beautiful as they age, its a confidence thing that comes with age.

Some do but most do not. From a woman's point of view I would much rather look at a young man that an older one - and I am way older than most men on here.

Dave, most men do become distinguished, like most women became more sexy. The few men and women who don't fall in this category are actually working on becoming distinguished and sexy.

Great isn't!!!!

Women are like flowers, in that they have a short time of blooming and beauty.

Men have the same face as they had at 18 just more wrinkly.

DEFINATLEY. Men get so much more handsome when they age, however, us women just start to sagg and not matter any more. Men look much more attractive with a couple of grey hairs and their skin not so fresh looking. It is true, and it aint a myth!! unfortunatley.
