This is data that was collected in addition to the main data that may or may not have bearing on the results of the research. For instance if research shows that girls perform better in High School English classes that is proved by the primary data. Secondary data may show that an exception may be boys in their senior year. The primary data does not change but the secondary is a piece of data that might need to be considered.
