this question was prompted by a programme about 6 months ago....i cant remember itf it was womans ghour on radio 4...or grumpy old women on bbc2.
they were saying how they felt at a certain age they became sexually invisible.
some saw it as a disater
some felt liberated by it.
i was just wondering what women thought....as usual i try to tweak my question provocatively to elicit a wholehearted response...but thats just the lLOKI in me...i can help it.
judging by a lot of the replies, this really is a catastrophic loss for women....i was expecting a more mature measured response...hence my tit for tat jim morrison lyrical snippet.

Have you SEEN some of the women over 50 these days! i.e. Christie Brinkley!! Women don't look like crap like they did when my grandma was 50. They actually take care of themselves and care about how they look. Grow up weazel and take a look around you.

If I was 50 I'd be relived not to be getting any attention from grumpy greasy 50 year old men!!
There are a lot of hot 50 year old women out there you know. Madonnas almost 50 believe it or not.

As an over-50 man (57) I am well aware from a glance in the mirror that things ain't what they used to be. That of course also applies to ladies and age seems crueler to them than to us.
HOWEVER: over 50 ladies are VERY attractive in so many ways that I assure you it is worth your waiting to find out. I suspect that you have a very active sex life, albeit mainly on your own, whereas us over-50s have the best times we have EVER had in my experience.
If you live long enough to join us (which seems unlikely given your rudeness), you will find out: but be careful with your current sexual activities, because you are risking your eyesight.

UNbelievable question! Sad more than anything.
I am over 50 - enjoy 'head turning' today as much as when I was younger; if not more - as now I VERY comfortable in my own skin and feminine wiles.
Perhaps you should also take a look at what has been occuring in our world today where people are living longer, prospering longer, looking good for as long as they wish to and staying INVOLVED and INTERACTIVE with life and others.
As for attention - attention is best given by ONE self to inner development [take a hint] and then to outward.........that will then draw all the 'attention' one can want.

LOL that's funny. My mum is over 50 and she gets more attention now than she did when she was younger. She has a rather 'interesting' lifestyle though. She's got tonnes of energy and looks fantastic too because she works out, eats well and has good fashion sense, as well as a positive outlook on life.
HTH : )

I'm not invisible at all.
Everyday I experience men looking at me everywhere I'm at or go to. I've almost exceeded my 50s in 5 years. Nobody can believe it.
Besides I'm as cheerful, easy-going and good company as 30 years ago.
I thank life for all those things and even more.

Wow. These answers are both disgusting and sad. Over 50s still getting attention? Puh-lease. Typical of the baby boomers who so pushed the passion of youth to the forefront to cling desperately to it now.
Face it, ladies. Your looks are gone. You can't compete with the younger generation. Men don't want you. Try to age with some grace instead of making everyone feel sorry for you.

I don't know what you're talking about. I have several over 50 friends who get plenty, and I plan on doing the same when I'm over 50.

Ladies, nobody is falling for the "I get more attention at 55 then I did when I was 20" line, unless you mean attention from your pet cats.
It must suck being a woman past her prime, its when they realize they don't have anything useful to offer the opposite sex anymore, b/c most guys your age have the $$$ to get younger girls and they don't want to mess with your cellulite butt anymore. SUCK IT UP!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
