It appears that the ink has dried where it is supposed to come out, and I need to know how to unclog it, or soften it, or whatever to allow the ink to come out again. These cartridges are pretty much brand new, I just haven't used them in a long time. They belong to a Lexmark X75 3-in-1 printer.

If you dont have alcohol you an place the cartridge in warm to slightly hot water for about 15-30 seconds then gently blot the ink connection with a lint free cloth. If you see a streak of ink then replace them in the printer.

They are unlikely to work again so there is nothing much to lose. Sit the printing ends in isopropyl alcohol for a while. Don't attack it with a pin, the jets are much finer than a pin point. Wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Don't use any paper tissues. Tissues are too harsh because the paper never forgets that it was a tree once.

Use alcohol to clean the area and a straight pin to clear the ink jets.
