US Neoconservatives may be leading the way toward a brave new world controlled by regional super powers. For starters, they are giving nukes to India, promoting the re arming of Japan, and allowing Israel to deal as it will with Lebanon and Palestine. Does this sound better? I don't think so.

There can be no judgement on this matter since there has always been a superpower. A couple of thousand years ago, my ancestors, the Brits, had to put up with the Roman superpower. We enjoyed superpower status for a couple of hundred years ourselves with the biggest empire the world has ever known.

No. I think we're stuck with superpowers. There's always someone wants to be top dog.

There is no Super Power just a manufactured Myth by the USA
What has happened in the last few years proves their is no such thing as a Super Power, this is USA propaganda - a myth - a Hollywood production.
We are into 4th generation warfare where WMD are of no value or of any use to fight the man who would kill himself to kill you.
What the USA forgot in all of their scifi weapons is you cannot beat and win against a man with a belief and motivation who has no fear of dying.
The USA is being beaten in Iraq with cheap Kalashnikov weapons and hand made bombs by a peasant army "remember Vietnam", it must be frightening for the Pentagon planners and Carlyle Groups arms sales shareholders as a Kalashnikov is only $50 each.
The USA public watches and actually believes its own propaganda films and is brainwashed by too many movies with Stalone & Schwartenigger & Bruce Willis conquering the world.
The reality is starkly different from silly movies.
You may be wittnessing the end of the USA military propaganda myth of Super Power status.
Every country in the world has seen the USA several times in action and know!!! and fancy their chance - a bit like boxers wanting the belt.

No, definitely there should be a monitor in a class, a grand father or father in a family, a judge and a government in a society and a superpower in a world, otherwise idiots will destroy the whole society.

Probably not. Imagine what the world would be like if knuckleheads like North Korea's Kim Jong Il or Iraq's Saddam Hussein had nobody to keep them in check.

Like it or not, the nations of the world behave like a bunch of 4th graders on a playground, and the world is a safer place because someone asks as the playground monitor.

Well, God's plan for this age is that we should establish a world federal government to oversee world affairs, so there shouldn't be any superpowers. The World Parliament must be based on proportionate representation.

We WOULD be a lot better off without a superpower which tries to claim absolute moral superiority over every other nation on earth, THAT's for sure.

I think the planet was a lot more stable when the USA and USSR were promising us MAD. Things are so fragmented now, I think that global conflict is more likely than ever it was during the cold war.

Maybe it would. If human nature could just find a way to not form them, maybe we would find out.
