We are the way we are because of our surroundings and experiences in life. I believe in God but I believe he put me here to see what I would do. I think he has a strange sense of humor. He throws things out there and doesn't tell us how to deal with it. He sits back and sees how we will handle it. I think he laughs his Holy Butt off at me! My life hasn't been easy and the way I have handled things has been a little odd at times. But it makes me who I am. We are who we are because that is how WE made ourselves.

it's everything, it's the choices the we make the ones that were made for us, genetics. It's really not an either or thing. Being human is very complicated, free will or pre-destination. What is consciousness and how come two people can react to an experience differently are old questions and I think the answer has to do with perceptions. How we percieve the world, how we are taught to percieve the world, and our reaction to it.

You are a product of your environment.Where you grow up people you meet, experiences you go through and how you you react. So yes life experiences do predict the kinds of people we become. But your not destined you can always change your mind your behavior but it is hard cause subconsciously your still stuck in your ways without knowing it.

Nature versus nurture has been debated for years. There are arguments for and against both sides. There have been studies done on identical twins seperated at birth who grew up in totally different households who displayed eeriley similar traits such as left-handedness, preference for hot tea over coffee, finding the same body type and look attractive in the opposite sex, hours of sleep, etc. which suggest it is nature.. what we are given from the moment of conception, no more and no less. There have been other studies which were done with identical twins who were seperated later in their childhood, raised in different households, one good, one horrible, and the twin in the horrible home, of course, got into much trouble in life, as opposed to the twin who had a reasonable life.. prompting nurture theories to abound. Studies have also been done on criminals, serial rapists and killers which suggest nurture has MUCH to do with it, combined with what nature gave out in the beginning and possible injury to the brain in some fashion later in life.
I personally think it's a bit of both. You can take what life dealt you and do anything you want to with it! Abraham Lincoln had no real upbringing for years, lived in dire poverty, and became a man of vision and fortitude. Jeffrey Dahmer had the average upbringing, with scouts and high school... and went on to eat victims to keep them with him forever. Who is to say what makes us what we are, other than the choices we make every day to be who we are! Great question today!

Yeah, that is what you were told in class. Your a good student. Life doesn't predict...it just simply exists. Our genetic make up influences how we function and how intelligent we are, yes. However...each moment and experience is unique and subjected to consistant change. So how can that be predicted?

I think it's a little of all that. I think our lives & what we go through makes us who we are. I survivied an abusive EX-husband and it has strenghted me like I never imagined. I'm not the same person that I was before I married him OR even after I left him..I better, I am stronger, I am more confident & I have faith in myself.

Nobody can really answer that. We are who we are. I dont think it is the generation or the time. All i know is that we are all individuals and we all have our own way of acting good or bad.

The Bible says God knew us before He formed us in our mother's womb.
We have an inner spirit. Environment places many limitations on us. An old saying is "We never outgrow our raising." However,
I believe "...if God be for us, who can be against us?"
I believe "If you have faith ... nothing shall be impossible for you."
I believe "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

we are what we are today because of experiences that weve been through and the influences that have sorrounded us..whether they are good or bad...decisons that we have made consciously or subconsciously...nothing is pre-destined...it is what is...
