no jesse is not dead, in fact he is very much alive! he was recently put up for a sport personality award which he won in texas! even more recently he was awarded the golden key to atlanta for some charity work he did there!
He is still in top physical form, and is currently competing in the senior USA weight lifting comp.

not dead as far as I'm aware.
he was on uk tv a few weeks back in a qualifier for worlds strongest man.
i think he qualified for the final which is on tv over xmas.
