My husband is a resturant GM and works with females age 17 to say early twenties.I am an attractive 30 year old women, wondering if he knows he is lucky or if he measures me by the way a 17 year old looks? I also wonder if he is normal choosing this line of work? He doesn't seem to try and go corporate, and doesn't use his college degree. He only makes 40,000 so I know he could find something else. I just don't understand why he would choose to spend 50 hours a week this way unless he was strange?

Hmmm, interesting. It could be a number of things. He likes doing something he is comfortable with and doesn't want to bother advancing his career. He could also like working with those young waitresses that I'm sure flirt with him all the time making him feel young and attractive. It sounds as though you have some insecurities issues with yourself. It may not be your fault either if he's making you feel this way. It would really bother me if my husband was working around little tarts all day long for sure. I don't care how secure you are in your marriage or how attractive you are it is just normal to feel uncomfortable. I would hope he doesn't compare you to them but for a man I think it's only natural especially if he's around them all day long. I would think if you mention to him to try to pursue another career and use his degree and he totally refuses to change his job.. then that makes me question why he is working there in the first place. I would not worry unless I personally saw him shamelessly flirting with younger women in general. Most restaurants employ younger people (women) not out of stronger desire to do so, but it is because they are the only ones that will work for the pay that is offered; most that I know love it when they have an older Grandma type that for once they can rely on to do the job for the pay that the company offers!
Again, unless he shows other signs of being into much younger women, it is likely that the younger girls are generally unattractive, despite their looks, because they are young, immature, irresponsible and you can't have any intelligent conversation with them and even their attempts to are always centered are THEM...the last thing a married man would want.
If he comes home to tired to truly appreciate you, it is only because he has had to deal with self-centered, ditzy, drama queens all day and truly does have a headache from from dealing with all of their BS all day, every day. If you have doubts, go to where he workd incognito with a friend and witness it for yourself.
If he went corporate he would be more a lot more than 50 hrs a week and wants some time to be home with his family; life is more than money.

You have a beautiful name and if that is your picture, you appear to be about 20. DO NOT worry about your husband without good reason. I really enjoyed my line of work also. The restaurant work is a fun thing to do. Each and every day is a whole new experience. I can not imagine him "measuring you" against another woman. Make sure that he knows that you also need some of his precious time. Spend part of that time reading and studying the BIBLE with others. GOD is the answer to a great relationship with your spouse. HE can make all of the difference in this world. After all, He created everything then sent HIS SON so that we would have an opportunity to be with HIM for eternity!

women in their 30's are just as gorgeous and sexy as women in their teens and 20's... It depends on the individual, if you're hot you're hot, it doesn't matter if you're 32 or 22... being young doesn't make you sexy. there are a lot of so-so and fugly 19 year old girls out there.
What's wrong with being a resaurant GM? maybe he enjoys it? 40k isn't bad money, and a lot of people go to college and end up doing something totally different then what they went to college for...
I don't know why but you sound really insecure and unhappy.. why?

Some people like to be really good at their jobs and are content with not "reaching for the stars".
Does he enjoy being around hot young women? Probably. Whether or not that means you have anything to worry about depends entirely on him.
I would bet he knows he is lucky. The girls he works with are just that - girls. You are his wife and (probably) his one-and-only.
