It's not just women who do that. I've encountered males who do it.
I think it's an irritating style of speech that they should work on eliminating.

It's especially grating on the nerves when someone is giving a speech or teaching something.....WHO CAN CONCENTRATE on what they are saying when you are just trying not to be annoyed at that sound coming out of their mouth!

I absolutely bloody hate it when people do this.
It is mainly spoilt students who talk like this and generally people who need to get themselves some sort of grip.
It is one of my pet hates.
