yes most babies are.. should NEVER be done intentionally however b/c some babies are not ok at that age, some need oxygen, some have jaundice, some have feeding difficulties.. still possible for them to require a hospital stay at that point. just totaly depends on the baby and you dont know until they are born.

Thats a good question. My answer is that you can never know until the baby comes. If he or she will be ok. Some babys are born 35 weeks and be just fine. Some babys are born at what every one thinks would be 40 weeks and have all types of problems. You might think that you are 35 weeks and could be 40 weeks.

Weather or not your baby would be healthy or not depends on how the development of the baby progresses during the pregnancy. The main concern of a baby being born before 40 weeks is lung development.most babies lungs are fully developed by week 37. However good health basically depends on development in the uterus. Some doctors are leary about delivering before 39 weeks. Your doctor would know wether or not it is safe for you to deliver before 40 weeks. I just recently had a baby eight weeks ago(number Six) and she was a 33-week baby. She had some difficulty at first with maintaining her body temperature, eating and breathing on her own.By the end of week one she was doing everything she was suppose to be doing and came home on day eight. She is doing great, she is just a little bit on the small side(about 6.5 lbs). Her brother was born at 36 weeks, and did very well from the start, had no problems breathing, eating or maintaining body temperature. I had two other babies before 40 weeks, and two more at 40-weeks. I

In most cases babies can survive @ 32 weeks with minimal complications. It all really depends on the baby and the mothers health during pregnancy. I hope this helps,Good Luck!

27 week is what I've always heard as the "threashold of viability". A baby born after that has a good chance of surviving. The longer the better of course, but by 35-36, they should be fine. Maybe a little small and may need some help breathing, the lungs are the last part to develop, but should be fine.

I have a BEAUTIFUL 8 month old daughter who was born just shy of 25 weeks, weighing in at a whopping 1 lb 9 ounces. If your baby is otherwise healthy, being born a few weeks early should not be a problem, just as long as the child receives proper care right away. One biggie, is that the lungs will not be fully developed, but, again, with proper care, that can be just a small hurdle to overcome.
My little Katie spent 103 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a children's hospital where she received excellent care and she is a true MIRACLE! And, of course, all babies are gifts from GOD! (thanks for the chance to tell about her!)

iv heard of a baby who survuved at 25 wks. i think its usually 26 tho. but when a baby is born that soon there r many complications n health problems that come along with a baby that premature.. especially lung developement because they have not had enough time to mature. also the digestive tract is not fully developed which also causes many problems. usually babies born at this stage on weigh about 1 lb so survival is not as likely. FULL TERM is considered 36 + wks i believe, thats when tha baby is most likely to b at its healthiest and most developed when born

YES IT CAN. WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY IT IS POSSIBLE. MY SON WAS BORN A 34 WEEKS. HE WAS 5POUNDS 4 OZ BUT STILL VERY TINY. HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 4 WEEKS. IF YOUR BABY IS BORN EARLY JUST EXPECT BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SUCK AT THAT AGE SO THEY WILL NEED A FEEDING TUBE THAT GOES THROUGH THEIR NOSE. DO NOT BE ALARMED BY ALL THE MACHINES THEY ARE HOOKED UP TO. IT MONITORS THEIR HEARTRATE AND BREATHING AND MAKES SURE BABY IS DOING EVERYTHING OK. SOMETIMES THERE ARE UNEXPECTED EVENTS THAT HAPPEN...MOST PREMEES HAVE WHAT THEY CALL APPNEA...WHERE THEY STOP BREATHING FOR A WHILE. IF IT IS SERIOUS ENOUGH THEY WILL GIVE HIM/HER CAFFEEN AND IT HELPS. THEY WILL NOT LET THE BABY GO HOME UNLESS THEY KNOW EVERYTHING IS GOOD. DON'T WORRY...IT SHOULD BE FINE

My little girl was born 6 weeks early and she is 3 now. She has had some medical problems like weight gain( doesn't put weight on that fast),shes had trush(mouth infection),shes had croup several times, shes had ear infections and pnemonia a few times. But these are all normal for a little one that is born early.
Yes the can be just fine.

I understand that any pregnant lady has to be careful during their 6-7 months pregnancy cos the baby may be due earlier. According to the Chinese, babies born in 6-7 months are meant to be smarter when they are older. So, no harm, though. Just get everything prepared during these months, who knows, the baby may be too anxious to come out.
