my last pill free week was 21st to 27th of september, then i took three pills from my new pack before deciding to try for a baby, my first day off the pill was oct 1st. my first period arrived on nov 9th, am i correct in thinking this would have been day 40 of my cycle if i had not come on? or should i count from sept 21st, which would have made it day 50 of my cycle? currently up to day 41 of the new cycle and no period yet. my breasts feel ok but my nipples are very sensitive (could be PMT), have felt a bit yuk some mornings but do get that sometimes - i'm not a morning person! gonna wait till the weekend to take a pg test but was just hoping someone may be able to help work out when my period is due. also, if i get a negative test and no period, how long should i wait before speaking to my doc about it?

Your period can take time to get into a regular pattern after being on the pill.
If you are pregnant congratulations.
If you are not then leave it a few months for your body o get into a regular cycle again and then goto the doctors.
I took nearly a year before being back into a regular cycle and my body played all kinds of tricks with me but i'm fine now.

Hi sweet, you should count the first day of your last period to the next first day of your period.

You could be a bit messed up because you took three pills and then stopped, it wont hurt you though.

I stopped the pill, (as we are trying for baby) in october and it took 39 days for my period to arrive. I was told that it coulld take up to three months.

I got really worried also, lots of things go through your mind.

Take a hpt first, wait a week and then do another.
If you still havent come on go to the doc and they may give you something to regualte you again.

I am already on day 27 of my cycle and no period yet, so it could take a while for regularity.

Good luck x

you can do a pregnancy test from the first day of your missed period. I have no idea how you work out when you are due. I would just do a test and see what it comes back with. Put your mind at ease. This probably isn't a lot of help, sorry.

I'm a nurse. I would say that you are pregnant. Of course you could be under a lot of stress, this too could cause it. I would schedule an appointment with your doctor. To answer yor other question your period should have been due 28 days from your last one. I hope this helps you. All the best.

after one is on the pill for some time, the menstrual cycle takes some time to become ovulatory. this will vary from person to person.if you have had mid-menstrual pain( before starting the pill), then the period will come 14 days after the mid-menstrual pain.this pain is a sign of ovulation, and if one wishes to conceive, then this is the best time.stress about not conceiving can itself lead to infertility. so relax and let nature take its course.
