I know someone who is unemployed and managed to blag a platinum card from his bank AND get a £10,000 loan. I haven't a clue how and if he pays it back, but he just lied on all the forms and said he was in full time employment etc.

For what its worth don't do this though. If you got caught you'd be fined, possibly jailed and would have to pay the full amount back again. It would also ruin your credit history.

If you are on Income Suppport and need a loan for household items (settee, cooker bed etc) you can apply to the DSS for a loan from the social fund. They will give you up to £1,500 as long as you don't already owe that much to anyone else. It is interest free and a low payment is deducted each time you get your payment from them.

Well you may want to go get a job first, that way you can make the payments. There are people who will loan you the money but if you don't make the payments they may break your legs.
Just wait until you get a job you will be better offf in the long run.
Don't be in such a hurry to get into debt, that is if you can help it.

Don't do it, the only people who will loan you money will probably be sharks and you'll end up in an even worse situation. Explain what it's for....? If it's for anything relatively worthy (getting a job, health care etc), there might be grants, sponsorship or charity help available.

I'm in exactly the same position. I tried Natwest but as I'm not working they wont lend me anything. The only option you really have, like myself, is to get someone to take a loan out for you in their name and you pay them back monthly. That is what I have had to do. Good luck though.

Hi,

Like you, I was desparately looking for the best loan not so long ago.

I tried loads of comparison sites but I wasn't happy with them until I found this Only Finance here:

Here I found my secured loan, life insurance and my Father found the best mortgage.

I highly recommend it - the service is fantastic.

If you really need the money there are some credit companies that will lend to the unemployed but look at the repayments carefully
