MY DAUGHTER IS NOW 4 MONTHS AND TEETHING AS WELL. PUT A DAMP WASHCLOTH IN THE FREEZER FOR ABOUT 10 MIN. ONCE IT IS NICE AND COLD LET HER CHEW ON IT. THE COLDNESS OF THE CLOTH WILL HELP TO EASE THE PAIN. GO TO WALGREENS AND GET THE TEETHING TABLETS THAT ARE ALL NATURAL-THEY DISOLVE INSTANTLY IN THE BABYS MOUTH. THEY WORK GREAT!!! ORAJEL DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK FOR ME,BUT TRY IT AND SEE IF IT WORKS FOR HER. GOOD LUCK

She could be but this is also just what four month olds do. They drool, they put things in their mouth and chew them. Does she seem like she is in pain? Has there been any changes in her eating or sleeping habits? If so she could very well be teething but this could go on for months before she actually has a tooth come through. She can start eating baby food at 4 - 6 months old. It would be best to speak with your doctor about starting solids as there are factors other than age that determine whether she is ready or not.

Your Dr. is full of it!! My daughter is not quite 4 months old and has her two bottom teeth already. My little girl was the same way, teethers seemed to hurt more than they did good, so I finally just resorted to Tylenol. It really was the only thing that gave her any relief. I gave it to her sparingly, only about once or twice a day at the times when she seemed to be the worst (for us it was afternoon and night) I gave her infant Motrin (which lasts 8 hours) before bed. They also make teething tablets that seem to work fairly well but my daughter is allergic to milk and they have a lactose base so we are unable to use them. Best of luck and I hope Layla gets those chompers through soon!!

Believe it or not I have a baby boy who just turned 3 months old last week and he has already started teething. Its not unusual for babies to be teething this early. Nor is it unusual for a baby to be born cutting teeth. (I know of three different babies that did, though they came out already half grown) The best thing I have found are Hylands Teething Tablets. Their 100% natural and dissolve instantly on your baby's tongue. They are great. It takes away the pain your baby is experiencing and even helps them sleep at night. You can find these tablets in the Spring Valley vitamin secton in Wal-Mart. Good Luck!

My kids all got teeth at 3 months, I either used baby orajel, when it was late at night and didn't have any I put some whisky on a cue tip and rubbed it on the gums, they have tablets called Hyland teething tablets, which I believe disolve in water, and they are supposed to work really well for the pain

well, I went through the same thing with my neice, and what the doctor told us to do was give her the teethers, pacifiers, and the bottles. do make sure that they are frozen....i would just give her the baby orajel also, because that might be too much medicine for her to handle being only 4 months.

What we did when our child first started cutting teeth was to go to the store and purchase Baby Orajel and just rub it on the gums and believe it or not it actually worked for us. Give it a try!

My son poked a tooth at 2 and 1/2 months I hate when doctors say that. I would just try some tylenol.

I dont understand why the doctor told you that she is too young to be getting teeth. I have known alot of babies as small as 3 months to start teething. Oragel and things like that didnt work for my kids but they have "teething tablets" at wal mart, they work great, but make sure you ask her dr before giving them to her, some doctors dont like them.
