Although I do buy presents and bake yummy cookies, there is not a day that goes by that Jesus is not on my mind or in my thoughts. He is the reason for the season, yet some want to shut Him out. Good luck because we will not go away and fight for Him. He died for our sins, is it too much to ask to honor Him?

dear, dear gate, I am not taking anything away from anyone. Sorry you have misconstrued my question. It's a question that I believe in and again so sorry that you felt you had to put words in my mouth.

teeyodi,
no thank you, I'll enjoy my Christmas instead of holiday. Sorry you think of it as a pagan ritual, you also have your own opinion.

khnopff,

who says I don't repeat His actions? I and many other Christians are not wholly but we sure try. More than I can say for some of you.

Worried? Well, I do have to agree with that. I'm worried that Jesus abolished from our society. He should not be shunned. Sorry you too have misconstrued my question.

drew,

once again another generalization. I do give other traditions respect, but where is the respect for Christianity and our Lord Jesus?

You are completely right!
HE is the ONLY REASON FOR THE SEASON AND THE ONLY REASON WE LIVE!
Just a thought --- For those of you who say we CAN'T put Christ in CHRISTmas because he wasn't born on Christmas day, how many of you (or your kids) actually have a birthday party on your birthday? This is the day we have Jesus's birthday. We should celebrate it ALL YEAR ROUND!
He is my Savior and Lord.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Since we are not sure what day of the year Christ was born, someone had to choose one. December 25th became the day that Christians celebrate Jesus' birthday. We all should put Christ back into CHRISTmas. We should stop the hustle and bustle to buy expensive gifts, but that is what the retailers have pushed for years and we have bought into that.

Christ's birth is celebrated on December 25th. Like it or not. Christians are here to stay.

One more thing, why is it okay to celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanza without anyone taking away from those celebrations? I have no problem with anyone that wants to celebrate their holidays, why can't we Christians have ours? It is not a non-specific winter holiday, it is CHRISTMAS!!!!

I wish more of you xtians thought that way. Instead I have to put up with the constant barage of cumpulsory shopping advertisements from Halloween til New Years. It seems our foundering economy is the reason for the season. I don't want to shut him out but I want to take this time of year back for the pagans...of which xtians usurped the holiday from. JC was born in the spring and xmas was used to denouce and vilify the pagan ritual of Yule/Winter Solstice in which we observe the longest night of the year and the return of the "sun" not the "son". Enjoy your holiday and remember when you're decorating your tree you are engaging in a pagan ritual...some customs were just absorbed into european xtian tradition.

Of couse Christ belongs in Christmas. He's the reason for the season, after all. People that don't like that should have to work the holiday. I don't take time off for religious holidays that I don't believe in.

Of course he is the reason for the season and yes he put the Christ in Christmas. For every little commercialized light you see and may doubt it's significance to Jesus, He put those there for the young ones to enjoy the season and bring him closer to them.

Of course. However some of the squeaky wheels want not only their given right to reject Christ, but they want to force their own thinking onto others by trying to outlaw any signs of Christ during Christmas. It is horrific to hear others state how much Christians try to force their beliefs on them, but turn around and advocate for the removal of a nativity scene during Christmas.

You can put Jesus in christmas as long as you dont go around screaming "Hes the reson for the season!" AND give blantant disregard to other traditions.

You have to remember (please dont get mad when i say this) that christmas originaly was a pagan holiday and many pagans still celebrate it today.

Jesus was of course as you know, not actually born in december. the palestinian nights were to cold for shepards to be out anyways.

Dec. 25th was labeled as the day to celebrate his birth by a roman emperor to help integrate the followers of the pagan god Mithra (persian god of light, war, and sacrifice)Pagan emperor Julian even worshiped mithra.

Mithra was believed to be born on Dec. 25th and already clebrated tens of thousands of years before christ was even born.

so please, remember Where the roots came from and give other traditions respect. thank you

You have the right to believe and celebrate in any fashion you wish. Only keep in mind, so does everyone else.
I happen to agree with the belief's you stated but I also believe that it is the individuals choice how they wish to celebrate or not celebrate at all. You cannot force your own views on others. The God we believe in gave us free will, don't celebrate him by trying to change that. No one can take Christ out of your celebration.

I think its ok to include Christ in Christmas, Mythological characters like Jesus and Santa add magic to the season.
