It means people can rate your quesstions. If they don't like your question, they can give you a thumbs down. If they like it, they can give you a thumbs up.
Also, when you get thumbs up either on your questions or your answers, you get a point for each one.
Thumbs down doesn't take points away, though.

Thumbs up means you ROCK. Thumbs down means there are some mean people out there.

thumbs up means good answer, thumbs down means bad answer. You need to get to level 2 to be able to rate..
Same applies to questions. Somebody obviously didn't like your question and gave u a thumbs down.

Dont be confused for a thumbs down is a thumbs up just upside down.
So if you frown at your thumbs down, just remember that you are smiling at thumbs up, upside down

people are telling you they dont like your question or answer-just ignore it really means nothing
