the following?

Sometimes I'll need to restart my pc for configuration of applications. When it starts to go off, the blue screen with the Hewlett Packard logo will come on and the H/P logo appears as collated copies of itself before going black. Then, when the pc comes back on, sometimes the display comes on and other times it does not. When it doesn't, I have found that simply unplugging the monitor and plugging it back in will make the display come on. There doesn't seem to be a particular pattern to this, it's hit or miss. Does anyone know what I can do to check my sytem? Any advice? Thank you in advance.

The first thing I would do is try to isolate the problem to the PC itself or the monitor.

Do this by finding a different monitor you can connect to your PC just to see if the problem still exists.

If it doesn't then there is something wrong with your monitor. If it does then we can safely assume that there is nothing wrong with your monitor & that the problem is with the PC.

The prossible issue with the PC amy stem either from the video card itself or the BIOS settings pertaining to it. Make sure that the "PCI or PCI-E" setting in the BIOS is correct & ty again.

If this doesn't help I would call HP. Apparently you have a recently purchased unit & it would still be under total warranty.

I own an HP with Media Center as well & do not have this problem .... neither should you.
They have an excellent support center. Please call them if you are under warranty.

A web site I use to test my computer is "www.pcpitstop.com" they test for free and if you want you can test anonymously.
Also, they do have some quick fixes. You can also view all the details of the tests. And possibly turn off some unneeded programs to help speed up your computer.

You Need To Check All Of The Hardware Hooked up to your Machine.this can happen if "any" of your hardware isn't connected properly.or if you have loose connections.
