Does anyone know what to do with the cactus peyote?

A friend gave me a peyote cactus and i dont know what to do with it.

Really? Well, if you want to maximize the effect, you chew the fleshy part of the plant, swallowing as much of it as you can. You will eventually want to vomit it back up, if you can. It won't take long for the show to start, but you might feel pretty sick.

I kinda thought a peyote plant is like having a marijuana plant? ..
