The Giants need a miracle. And a healthy defense to make big plays against the other team's offense. And a healthy offensive line so that they can catch Eli's mistakes.

I don't think having David Carr would make a difference. Now if we had Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, or Peyton Manning...then we've got something to talk about.

remember every one, ELI IS ONLY IN HIS 3rd YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
he is not his brother, his brother is a long time vet, his brother needed time too, his brother was not an nfl great the sec he came into the leauge, his brother was not great till his 2-3 year, and htis brother was only great cuz of the team and coaches around him...note all the his brothers, cuz if not for payton being in the league and doing what he has done, none of these questions would be, being asked, my god ppl give the kid a break, and just FYI whats with david carr, every one in texas wants his *** out cuz they think he sucks, you must be on crack, but david is not a bad QB but no they would not be going any farther with carr instead of eli
and note to every one bout rivers, he is not that great either, his stats lie my friends, FOOTBALL IS A TEAM SPORT, if you put payton on the giants right now, you can drop bout 5-8 point off his QB rating like that.....its all in the WR, Oline and RB to to make a QB good, now the giants have the RB but everything else is inconsitant, and rivers would be getting his *** ate up if he was a giant.....

No, Eli is still better then David Carr.

They would be even worse off with Carr.

I doubt that they'll repeat. It took several miracles for them to win it last year both in the Super Bowl and games leading up to the Super Bowl (not that there's anything wrong with that, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good). I think they have a lot of pride, and won't go down easily. But everyone's going to be gunning for them this year. (their non-divisional games this season will be against the AFC North as well as NFC West... they also play Carolina and Minnesota). Their strength of schedule is average. As always, injuries will play a part in how they do. Last year, they just got hot at the right time. Tough to do that two years in a row. They deserved the championship they won last season, but it's tough to go back-to-back these days. I'd be shocked if they didn't make the playoffs, but I don't think they'll make it back to the Super Bowl this year. Eli's probably still trying to figure out how they won it all last year.

DAVID CARR...NO!!!!

Eli has to stop playing the 'Archie's son, Peyton's brother' card. He needs to be ELI. He will make his plays if he gets time in the pocket which he does not because the o-line is horrendous. BUT, that doesent mean he hasent done anything bad. When he throws the ball up in the air, its not the offensive lines fault. They wont get to any super bowl if he doesent pick it up.

No, it's not Eli that's the problem right now. It's the AWFUL secondary, the rash of injuries, and WAY too much talking out of the players. I'm a Giants fan and even I'm sick of it. Every week it's the same old talk. They've yet to prove that they're even remotely at the level of what they say they are.

They would be going if they had anyother QB who's name isn't Eli Manning.

And a TE named Jeremey Shockey.

And a WR named Plaxico Burress.

And a quitter RB named Tiki Barber.

Then they'd be in Perfect shape to make a Super Bowl run.

They would need a good QB if they wanted to win the Super Bowl. Carr would be the same problem.
