Oh, wow. What's most important to you?

The South tends to be more conservative politically. The New England states plus New York and Pennsylvania tend to be more liberal, as does California, Oregon and Washington. The midwestern states, as well as New York and Pennsylvania, are known as the rust belt for their decaying, empty industrial centers. Jobs are moving to the South to avoid higher taxes and workers unions in the northeast and west coast.

Places like Wyoming and Montanana have vast expanses of almost nothing but landscape.

We have mountain states, desert states, states where it almost never snows, states that have -30 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter. That's just the continental states. Alaska and Hawaii are completely different matters.

We have some of everything.

Pennsylvania. Good mix of rural, small town, suburban and urban living. Good schools (if you have kids). Low cost of living in most areas. Lots to do and close to everything. I've lived in a number of places in PA, West Virginia, and South Carolina and traveled a lot all over the U.S. and Western PA is the best!
