Why is it so hard for females to be roommates unless they are sisters?

Thats a darn good question!
I believe it's because a lot of females have had bad experiences or heard of people having bad experiences living with other females.
I was best friends with someone for 10 years, we moved in together and it didn't even last 6 months. Now we dont even talk anymore.
It was difficult for me because she didnt live the same way I did. She was anal overly clean... I mean like ridiculous, and I liked to get my bills paid on time!!!
Good luck, your best bet, get a part time job and live alone!!

Throughout my late teens & 20's I had lots of female roommates & there was only one I didn't get along with. Maybe we got along because we talked beforehand about what was acceptable & what wasn't. Or maybe because I was raised to be considerate of other people & thats how I pick my friends. Also if a problem came up we would sit down & talk about it calmly & rationally. Otherwise, its probably just a personality thing.

Because females are so complicated...bitchy, competitive, you name it. I lived with my best friend for 3 months in college and I thought I was going to kill by the time I got a new roommate. We are still best friends, I just could not live with her.

I don't know, but it's true, when there were an abundance of boarding houses, the management prefered male tenants over female, and a lot of them were refused. It seems they scap and cat fight everyone, and do lots worse damage then the men. they cause ,and instigate more violence.

For the most part, women are back stabbers. They will go after your man without the slightest of remorse. Plus we are very competetive with a mixture of mood swings, hormones, and bitchiness. Gotta love us though!!!!

Women are very competative with each other - who has the best hair, clothes etc. We might not admit it but we all envy each other. I think that is why.
