Yes. It is a horrible feeling. One of a complete loss of control.

Not yet but I expect to be burgled when I come back after the Christmas holidays. I've just moved to a dodgy area and am stuck here until the summer. I'll just have to try and secure everything as best I can, but there's not much that can stop a determined burglar.
I envy the guy above who got to try out his new gun. Years ago my dad was taking a nap on the sofa and a hand appeared through the window just as he happened to wake up. He snuck up and grabbed it, and picked up a kitchen knife and.... well, the scumbag got of lightly. My dad owned a shotgun at the time too.

Yeah my house got burgled while me and my mum were at a New Year's party when I was a kid.
We came in and the Christmas tree was all over the floor and among other things some presents for my sister's kids that they hadn't picked up yet had been stolen.
My mum just sat and cried and she didn't feel safe in the house anymore. I was raging, even though I was just a kid I hated whoever it was that made my mum cry.

Sad, pitiful b*stards.

Several times sadly. It is so unsettling and infuriating. The worst was in twice in the same year. Last time it happened was in 2001, 2 weeks before Christmas and only a fortnight after some uninsured idiot wrote my parked car off outside my front door. Learnt over the years that having good insurance eases the pain- would never be without it.
Fingers crossed, I've had my share now.

I used to run a firm where the bulk of my work was making places secure after a break-in etc. To see the pain and anguish on an old ladies face when she realises her husbands watch, a retirement present had gone. To look at childrens faces when the Christmas Presents have vanished makes me wonder why capital punishment was ever discontinued. I would enjoy a good hanging on Christmas Morning followed by a turkey dinner.

Yes, eight years ago. I interrupted them aswell and they got away with my jewellery box - I still feel sad because it had all my Nana's jewellery that was passed to me when she died and all the rings my Mum had bought me for my birthday each year. The thing is because I interrupted them I thought they hadn't managed to take anything, it was only when I was in bed that night I noticed all my drawers had been opened and rifled before being shoved back carelessly and then I realised my jewellery box had gone, awful feeling. I was living alone with a 6 month old baby at the time.

Once many years ago there was an attempted burgalry on my home. Though the person never enter my house, I still felt very vulnerable and violated.

Had a vehicle burglarized one time. They got a CB radio (a who?) a radar detector and were working on my radio-tape player when something or someone interrupted them.
