In every part of my life, those I know best get better treatment. And yes, newbies can join the fun, though it might take them awhile to get into my good graces.

yes and yes.
Everyone is partial in some way toward the people they know. As a supervisor, I prefer to work with people I know because I know what they're good at. We tend to give interviews to people who are referred by someone we like. Coaches in the NFL (and I assume other sports) like to bring former players to their team. Kids in school pick the kids they like to be on their team during phys. ed. A sheriff hires friends and friends of friends as deputies.
It all goes back to the saying, "It's not what you know, but who you know."
On the other hand, I still give others a 'chance' to do whatever, whether it's work for me or be on my softball team. If we only surround ourselves with people we know, we isolate ourselves and limit our potential at any endeavor.

I try to keep my heart open, but it's so hard when the folks I like best insist on growing in my affection and filling up all the available space!
I try not to have favorites but I'm only human...

I think everyones is partial to the people they already know. To welcome the outsider means to step outside your comfort zone. For instance, I like to answer questions for people that I am familiar with on this site. But every now and then, they'll change they're names and it takes me a little while to figure out who they are. You know what I mean........

I try to because I know what it feels like to be the one on the 'sidelines'.
But I think that it's a normal reaction to graviate towards those we know in most situations.

Yes, but I'm always open to the option of getting close to those I just met. ;)
Speaking of that, how the hell do you make the heart thing? Send it via message to me on 360..I'm clueless. LOL!

Very partial.
I don't play well with others.
BUT, I am learning to make space in the sandbox for others...
I still throw sand at 'em...but I'm trying here!!!
baby steps...
:)~
