i have a laptop computer and all of a sudden a couple of keys stopped working. honestly i think it was my cat. like when i type p using the keykboard it types -. the period types p and the u acts like an arrow key. its is just the uiopjkl;m.09877 keys. like the 789 keys act like arrows . and now i turned on the override key and dont know how to turn it off. please help. already tried the keykboard properties and the language settings for the keyboard. hurryu the on screen keykboard is annoying.

It MAY??? be that the Numlock "NUmLK" key is ON and the embedded key pad has been turned on.

It's the scroll lock ...there is a key sequence to turn that off on some laptops...is this an IBM? are there keys that have a letter and a smaller character on them? When you hold down the shift key does and press the key does it type correctly?

You can try restarting the computer and see if that helps.
You can also go to "www.pcpitstop.com" and have them test your computer for free and anonymously if you'd like. they do have some quick fixes and help.

Also,the on screen key board is under start/accessories/ accessibility.

have you looked at you keyboard settings ??? look at keyboard in control panel ./ also regional setting / make sure its set for you country
