What judges the take of actors comments regarding politics? Are they welcome when the issues on the ballot concern them the most, like Michael J. Fox or the late Christopher Reeves concerning stem-cell research? Are they any more or less welcome when they decide they approve or disapprove of a certain political figure, abroad or in their own country, as Sean Penn has done recently? What about their issues concerning major political figures or events, such as the issue of Darfur being considered a "Hollywood matter", or, as I see it from so many, a meaningless issue only cared about by people with their face in the media? Finally, does how much political knowledge they have influence suppport for their views, or is it on a "you suppor what I think is the right thing, regardless of your comparative knowledge on the issue" kind of deal? Or are they just eye candy who's statements mean nothing as long as they remain in front of the camera?

Any celebrity has the right to publicly convey their opinions regarding politics. It doesn't matter whether they are for or against any issue or any candidate. The problem I have is when they attempt to insert themselves into foreign policy. George Clooney has no business going to Syria and discussing anything with them. If Sean Penn believes President Bush should be impeached then he should write a letter to his Congressman. He shouldn't go stand on the foreign soil of a country that has questionable allegiances with the United States and further their cause against us. To me you can't get much more Anti-American than that.

If celebrities want to adopt Darfur as a "Hollywood matter" that is fine with me. The United States has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in regards to the aid it has given to the whole effort in that region of the world. Check out the link.

To the latter part of your question, yes, I would say this is the case for an alarming number of celebrities. They are treated like gods by their fans and (I believe) they come to look at themselves as if they are some kind of gods. To the best of my knowledge unless they have assistance, they put their pants on one leg at a time like you and me and their *poop* does in fact stink. Don't tell them that though.

There are a very few celebrities that when they talk I actually listen. There are a few of them that do exist though. So to the first part of your last question, yes.

Only the very young would be swayed by the views of someone in the pop culture. For the young it becomes a case of monkey see, monkey do. An example is the drug culture that was prevalent among young people in the 60s and 70s.
Even though young people know the difference between right and wrong, the understanding of the difference between right and wrong comes much later in life.

i do unlike an actor attempting to effect politics using their celeb. i think of this is a miles less high priced shot and to boot what makes them think of that they are able to effect the way i think approximately something merely via fact they make thousands and thousands per action picture. It turns me off whilst an actor gets politically in touch in something. I even have misplaced a great style of admire for George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Michael J Fox, and so on. via puzzling line radical perspectives they have on the subject concerns. for my section they might desire to maintain their politics to themselves and do what they are paid to do and make video clips.

They are free to express their opinion like the rest of us. However, when considering their statements, it must be taken into account that most of them are rich spoiled children with little education and no concept of real life. So mostly, they are just eye candy.

Regardless of their knowledge of a particular subject, they have star power and people, for many many reasons, will believe them before they would listen to a politician.
