The NL Central Division is by far the most interesting division in baseball. I think the Astros have a very good chance of winning the division with the addition of Carlos Lee. With such a short left field fence, he is going to knock a lot out of the park. The Cardinals are an old team that just keeps getting older. Look for a lot of injuries on the Cardinals this year, only this time I don't think they, or Pujols alone, will be able to overcome them. The team to watch in the Central division is the Milwaukee Brewers. Last year this team was absolutley descimated by injuries. They lost their entire starting infield, other then Prince Fielder, and Ben Sheets and Tomo Ohka for almost the entire season. With a lot of young emerging stars on the field, and perhaps the most versatile and experienced bench in the league, this team is going to be right in the thick of the division race and the wild card race, assuming they can avoid the amount of devastating injuries they had last year and Geoff Jenkins has a season that only remotely displays his potential. The Cubs are just natural losers, Soriano isn't going to change that.
1.) Houston
2.) Milwaukee
3.) St. Louis
4.) Chicago
5.) Cincinnatii
6.) Pittsburgh (I'm not sure why they even bother)

No - The Chicago Cubs will win the Central in 2007 and the Cardinals will win the Wild Card. I'm afraid the Astros will finish at or near the bottom. What amazes me though is that no one has mentioned the Pirates. Laugh all you want but htey played above .500 the second half of the season and they are putting things together pice by piece.

If they can get some offense that stays consistant, it's a possibility. St. Louis is going to loose a lot of it's pitching, including the two that got them into the World Series.
I'm watching the Cubs picking up key players, the Reds staying competitive, and of course the Brewers can't be ignored.
It's going to be another fun season and as long as Duncan isn't made to play in the outfield, and the Cardinals stay away from Detroit pitchers who have problems with fielders choices, ..

It's between the Astros and the Cubs.
The Cardinals have absolutely no chance this year. The only reason they made it last year with such a poor record is that the rest of the division was weak (they would have finished no higher than 3rd in any other division with the same record).
The Cubs and Brewers took steps to improve their team, and the Astros did some retooling as well. The Cardinals are pretty much the same team, and that wasn't all that great in 2006 during the regular season.
My Prediction for the top 4 in the Central
1. Cubs
2. Astros
3. Brewers
4. Cardinals
...and that's if the Cardinals manage to stay ahead of Pittsburgh

Maybe. This will be a hard fought division between 4 teams. Houston, St. Louis, Chicago and Milwaukee Yes I said the Brewers, these guys are young hungry and not yet rich enough to be slackers. Ultimately though I think the Cardinals will win the Division again with Houston 2nd and the Cubs third.

It will be tough since Chicago got better.
Also I think that the Cardinals, are still the team to beat.
But if they resign Roger, then again they will have a good 1-2-3 punch in Oswalt, Roger, and Jennings. They also bolstered their hitting with Lee, so they will be better, but the Cubs have also gotten better.

Carlos Lee is a big help, but it's going to boil down to pitching. Woody's 41 and the Stros just gave up Hirsh for Jason Johnson. Who are the other two starters and is Lidge's head back on straight?
There are just too many question marks .... but I wouldn't sweat the Cards ... I'd be more worried about the Cubs ... they may not have GREAT starting pitching ...but they have LOTS of it.

They'll probably end up playing second fiddle to the Cardinals again, but don't be surprised if the Brewers make a decent run for the Wild Card this year. A lot of people are playing up the strengths of the Cubbies, but I don't see them being relevant for at least two more seasons.

nope i'm sorry man i don't see it happening they lost andy pettite jeff bagwell retired and they most likely will lose roger clemens and that's too many huge losses to overcome if anything st.louis might win the division again or maybe the chicago cubs might do some serious damage this year as well
