if she wants them to hurt a little less or for them to pass easier, tell her to sit in the bathtub. If they keep getting bad, just go to the hospital.

If she can't stand the pain, have her go back to the hospital. She may be at 4 or 5 cm by now and they can give her an epidural for the pain so she can rest. Once I had my epidural, i shot to 10 cm in an hour and my daughter was born 20 minutes later. Good luck!

ONLY If her bag of water is still intact, she could try having sex. Orgasm can cause contractions.....it could strengthen the ones she is having.

Walking. Squatting to bring baby down to put more pressure on the cervix.

Try taking a warm shower or soaking in a warm bath to relax.

Nipple stimulation, 20 mins on, 20 mins off.

Make sure she eats something as she needs her energy!

Hospitals are wierd. Now days they dont care how far apart your contractions are, you have to be at least 4-5cm dialated and you have to actually dialate while you're at the hospital being monitored for them to keep you.
Tell her to walk alot...have sex and drink tons of water. This should help intensify her contractions so she dialates more. Especially the having sex part....irritation of the cervix makes it dialate more, especially while your contracting. I was having light ctrx with my daughter and was at 4cm....they simply checked my cervix to see how dialated I was and within 30min I went to 5cm because they messed with it.

I found having a warm bath helped ease the contractions, it also seems to help speed things up a little. Walking/pacing can help keep you occupied and the bearing down will help speed things up.

I've never had a child.

However, I would try to get her into the bath tub and take a warm bath. Try putting a rag on her face and let her know everything is okay.

Also try listening to her favorite cd...to get her mind off things a little bit.

the only thing you can do is wait. let them come on their own. just keep her busy walk around some, when she starts having a contraction tell her to breath in deep. and when that bundle of joy wants to come out she or he will . and afterwards she won't even remember the pain that she was in. congrudulations.

THEY SENT HER HOME WITH CONTRACTIONS ONLY 3 MINUTES APART!!???

My wife had c-sections but I have heard that walking and sex speeds up the process.
