In the UK we have TK Maxx, TJ Hughes and in Pembrokeshire TP Hughes!

In America T.J Maxx also is Marshall's and they have another one.... It has to do with mergers and marketing. If you go into a T J Maxx it has a "thrift store" feel.. the stores are kind of generic and bland, the merchandise kind of laying around, but in Marshall's it is all slick interior design, 2 finger spacing on the hangers etc even though both stores carry the exact same merchandise ( I used to work in their distribution center in Las Vegas) They do it that way because some people only shop at high end looking stores because they feel "discount" stores are beneath them, and others shop in discount stores because they feel they don't have the money (or patience for the uppity attitudes) that are in the upscale stores.
