or is it just freaks and weirdos?

2006-12-19 00:36:57 · 33 answers · asked by TOYMAN 1 in Beauty & Style Fashion & Accessories

Let me add to the question, tell me about "normal" people that have piercings and what they are? Can a small nose ring or multiple earrings prevent someone from getting a good job,etc...

I am not trying to insult anyone or say what is or is not "normal" or that we should try to be normal. It's just a question to get people talking. Please do not be offended...

I would consider myself a "normal" woman (I guess that depends on your definition tho...). I am a stay at home mom with three beautiful girls. I sing in our church choir, and used to be a nanny for a wonderful little boy. And I got my nose pierced! Just a little stud can be quite becoming...

My boss as a nanny said she didn't care at all as long as I didn't get her son's nose pierced too! In the recent past I've also had my belly-button pierced, my tragus and rook (all parts of the ear), and I have 4 tattoos.

The only one I wouldn't do over again is my belly button ring because it left nasty scars when i got pregnant. However, now that I'm done having babies, I'd consider doing it again!

I know a lot of women who would love to get, say, their nose pierced, but are worried about the same stereotypes you're asking about... But I guess I just don't really care what others think. So, yes, normal women get piercings, if they have enough self-esteem to do it!

First of all...there are NO normal people. Everyone is different and that's what makes us ALL cool. I am "normal" so to speak....expect for that one voice I keep hearing.....hmmmmmm.....I have my ears pierced once and I had a belly ring. I don't so drugs or smoke or drink. I consider people that have piercings that are conservative and don't over do them....e.g. 10 rings in one ear......"normal". But that person with 10 rings could be just as normal, just a little flashier than me. I do believe that having so many rings in ones nose, eyes, mouth, etc....can give most employers the notion that they are less reliable and more of the rebel type, when in fact, they aren't.

I have preferred a few, and now not others. If it is in well style, and does not duvet enormous locations, it may be kinda first-class. I do not like piercings rather then ears, and a couple of piercings ordinarily do not seem high-quality both. If a lady had 5 alongside each and every eyebrow or some thing, it might make me simply desire to hold a bath curtain off of them. Oh, and the fellow above me has a well factor, I've noticeable many on older females, they usually seem terrible.

One of the most blandest, supposedly 'normal' people I know has a belly button piercing.

I also used to know a girl who was covered in them- I doubt there was a single piece of skin left unpierced BUT she was hardly the life and soul of the party. If anything, she was really quiet.

All the freaks and weirdos I know are piercing-free, save for a couple of ear piercings :-)

Yes. I dont see how it should affect getting a job. Most indian women have nose piercings and ear piercings, most of them are very normal.

I am a 30 yr old freaky mother of 5 and a weirdo community college teacher. I have two tattoos and an eyebrow ring.

Sad thing is... I am probably way more normal than you ;)

Definitely!
My sister-in-law is the most normal person I have EVER met. She shops at all the normal stores, listens to normal music, has normal hair, takes her son to soccer practice, watches Oprah and Dr. Phil (she is like the perfect soccer mom) and SHE has her bellybutton pierced and her nose pierced.

i've had multiple ear piercings, double belly rings, tongue ring, lip piercing and a nose piercing, i have tattoos, i'm doing my bachelor degree in fashion and will continue my masters degree and had planned out my future that i will have a descent job. i would definitely consider myself as one descent woman who has a goal in her life and is strong enough to feed herself and by herself an expensive car.

So,

am i normal, freaky or wierd to you?
does that mean i'm not sensible?

open up your brain and look at the world, dude. then read your question again. do you see that your question sounds quite dumb in there,...yet?

Who is to say what a normal woman is. I've met lots of woman and the ones who appeared to be the most normal on the outside ended up being the biggest surprises.

well all depends who qualifies as normal to you ;-) I consider myself normal and I would get a piercing in my belly button or a small diamon on my nose... I don't think that a piercing defines the person
