find a websit offering free myspace bacround and when you find one you like- click on the link to get the code then copy and paste the code into about me in your profile when you edit it....

You can either do it by HTML, or you can go to a site like www.mygen.co.uk which will allow you to edit a profile to how you like, then give you a code at the end to do it to your own profile. You take the code, then paste it into the "about me" section of your profile - myspace knows it's HTML so you can't see the text, only the effects.

go to google.com and search for "myspace layouts". You'll get tons of options for pre-made layouts, complete with directions about how and where to paste the codes it generates for you.
